Baldhead Fred Rautmann was born 3-29-69 to Wanita Rautmann, Dance Master of America and PGA Tour Player and Golf Professional, Dick Rautmann. Fred grew up with impeccable timing and a passion to entertain.
Fred is currently working as a independent Golf Caddie, contracted by CSI at CordeValle GC in San Martin, CA. His ability to read the challenging greens and give perfect yardage makes him one of the best. He is available for requests and currently works seven days a week.
Fred purchased his first drum set, an eleven piece double kick Tama with Roto-toms and Octobons, during his ski instructor days at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort in the early 90’s. He practiced and performed his first gig with Darren Ventura at a local party in the Strawberry, CA area.
In 1993 Fred moved to Auburn, CA and joined the band Stone Soup. Stone Soup's first show would be Baldhead Fred’s debut with his trademark-shaved head and his Scandinavian Birch, Force 3000, Sonor drum set. Stone Soup sounded great that night and BHF was hooked on learning a new craft. Fred still uses the Sonor drum set today!
Fred honed his skills playing with many projects. Nowhere Near, Maxx Cabello, Backyard Blues Band, Lara Price Band, 420 Hudson St, Monterey Tribute to Ray Charles Project, Tangled Roots, The Station and many more.
In 2011 Fred started touring with Candye Kane, Laura Chavez (best friend) and Kennan Shaw. The tour took him across the US and 9 Countries. Fred enjoyed every moment and was honored to be the drummer on Candye's new album, Coming Out Swinging, to be released June 18, 2013.
Fred currently stepped down as a touring drummer and is back in Hollister, CA playing local shows, while he builds a family with Bethany McQueen.
